National Dance Week© 2007 Motor City Celebration
The Motor City Celebration was a community fundraiser event to support National Dance Week©, which took place April 28 – April 29, 2007 in Downtown Detroit.

Hip Hop Dance Workshops Instructed by Celebrity Dance Choreographer
MTV Award-Winning Dance Choreographer and Acclaimed Actor, Darrin Henson instructed master classes for intermediate and advanced dancers. Open to dancers ages 5 to adult.

Additional workshops were given for the casual dancer to the advanced of all ages, instructed by Michigan's top dance teachers, studio owners, and award-winning dancers!
Through the Motor City Celebration, Toni’s Dance Company and OASIS CHARITY demonstrated their commitment to the community by offering aspiring dancers a tremendous opportunity to learn from industry professionals, and by showcasing the best talent in dance that Detroit has to offer.

The audience witnessed a magnificent display of artistic expression and mesmorizing moves at the NATIONAL DANCE WEEK MOTOR CITY CELEBRATION DANCE CONCERT! This night included performances from Michigan's top dancers and dance companies ranging from beautiful modern pieces, to heart-pounding hip hop dances, to eclectic polynesian dance, each piece telling their own stories. This was an awesome concert!

National Dance Week© is celebrated during the month of April solely in select states throughout the U.S., as it is not yet officially recognized nationwide.
Toni’s Dance Company, was selected to represent the State of Michigan by the National Dance Week organization; therefore, in partnership with Oasis Charity of Detroit, we are lobbying to obtain recognition for an official National Dance Week in the U.S. starting right in our hometown, Detroit.
